I approach pedagogy as a structured yet expansive practice shaped by my cross-cultural experience teaching in both China and the United States. In China, sustained repetition cultivates deep embodied memory and technical precision; in the U.S., weekly variation encourages adaptability and responsiveness. By integrating these models, I create a stable classroom structure in which foundational exercises are reinforced while students gradually expand into traveling phrases, light jumps, and expressive movement across space. This balance allows technique to accumulate with clarity while remaining dynamic and alive. Ultimately, I design learning environments where discipline builds confidence, and structure becomes a pathway to freedom rather than limitation.

Title: Ballet Basics for Beginners
Level: Children (6+), Teens, and Adults
Length: 90 minutes
Format: 8-week series
This workshop offers beginners a clear and engaging introduction to ballet technique while building confidence and coordination. Each class begins with a floor warm-up to activate the core and back, increase body awareness, and prepare the body safely for standing work. The first class introduces foundational exercises such as pliés, tendus, and basic port de bras. In the second class, additional elements such as jetés and rond de jambe are added while continuing to refine earlier material. As the series progresses, students move beyond stationary exercises into traveling combinations and light jumps, experiencing both technical precision and the joy of dancing across space. Although the material develops sequentially, each class stands independently. Core exercises are consistently revisited, allowing students who miss a session to rejoin without feeling behind.
